Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Alumni 2010 Performance and Reunion!

On November 7, 2010 there were over 100 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders from all eras (60's/70's/80's/90's/00's) who performed at the Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccanners game. The 5 minute performance was a montage of Michael Jackson songs choreographed by the very talented former Falcons Cheerleaders, Kelly Stewart Barker (Head Choreographer), Kristy Korpieski Carder, Melvina Edwards, and Jakene Ashford. The photos below were short by photographer Art Morrison, and the video footage was filmed by Joe Moore. The Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Alumni are an exclusive group that has over 300 members in the organization managed by former Falcons Cheerleader Michele "Mickey" Crawford-Carnegie. She is a member on the Stingray Allstar Cheerleading Squad, Youth Level 5 (Advance). Their squad just came back from an NCA competition in Dallas, TX as the #1 squad in the country at their division level. Janet and the other parents have a lot to be proud of. Way to go Stingrays!!!

Game Day Reunion - November 16, 2008

There have been various cheerleader formations over the years from all female, collegiate style, and co-ed. The uniforms and hair may have changed over time, but the spirit never changes.

We can’t wait to take it back, way… back at the next game day performance!!

It was Alumni day at the Atlanta Falcons vs. Denver Broncos game on 11/16/08. The National Anthem was song by Falcons Cheerleader Alum, Shamea Smallwood (05'/06'/07').

The Atlanta Falcons celebrated the 10th anniversary of the 1998 NFC Champions. Players from the 1998 team were honored during a halftime ceremony with player introductions of former Falcons greats.

Over 100 Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders were in attendance for the game. Over 80 performed an awesome routine with a montage of songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and now. Thank you to all the Super Stars who performed during the pregame performance!! The performance was choreographed by talented and former Falcons Cheerleaders, Kelly Stewart Barker, Kristy Korpieski Carder, Melvina Edwards and Jakene Ashford. Their time and energy they put into our routine was greatly appreciated to make us look as FABULOUS as we did.

AFC Alumni Game Day Performance 11/16/08

Hello Alumni!

Great news!! Mark your calendars for the Falcons vs. Broncos game on November 16, 2008!! I have been given the final okay for us to perform during pre-game again this year. Of course, I will provide more details and specifics when I have all of the pertinent information. In the meantime, here are some answers to some of your questions you may have.

Game Day Routine
We are doing the same routine from before. This will work out perfect due to time constraints, it’s a great routine, and most of the Alumni know it or can pick it back up again quickly. Please plan on being in the same groups you were assigned before to help make the planning easier. We will have different formations this time to change it up a bit on the field.

TENNIS SHOES
The other thing I wanted to mention is that we’ll be wearing white tennis shoes again for the performance. It’s okay for them to have some color, but make sure they are majority white.

DANCE GROUPS
I will start getting copies of the music and instructional DVDs to Alumni mailed in the next 2 weeks for Alumni needing these items again. Please contact me as soon as possible with your mailing information if any of these item(s) are needed. Please plan on dancing in your previous groups. It will change slightly once we have a better idea for who is performing and who will be joining us after including our new Alumni and the Alumni MIA.

Game Day Attire/DVDs/Group Photo
We are working with a limited budget from the Falcons. As a result, we are not getting new dance pants and are wearing the same black dance pants worn before. However, we will get a totally NEW and DIFFERENT shirt to wear that will flatter everyone. Once pricing is confirmed, I will give you one price that will cover the cost of your shirt and game day DVDs. Regarding filming of our routine, I have submitted a request for the use of 2 camera angles of our performance. One would be to see all of us on the field performing the routine and the other where they do random close-ups of the performers. Also, I have a request for us to take another group shot too at the Dome.

Did not perform at last Reunion / Missing Instructional DVD, music CD, & Black Dance Pants
If you performed, please check first to see if you can locate these items and that your DVDs and CDs are working and your dance pants are in wearable condition. If not, in the checklist below, mark the item(s) that you need. Of course, if you didn’t perform and didn’t receive any of these, you will need to check all of these items along with your dance pant sizes. The dance pants are the same ones the AFC perform in that have the V top. Please include your name and mailing address along with dance pants size if applicable.

Practices for Game Day Performance
We anticipate practices to begin in September after Labor Day until our game day performance. The choreographers (Kelly Stewart Barker, Jakene Ashford, Kristy Korpieski Carder, & Melvina Edwards) and I are in the process of locating places for rehearsal. Of course, you will be given details and a schedule as soon as we find out.

Game Day Tickets
All of the AFC Alumni performing and in attendance will receive a ticket for the game. I have sent in a request to the Falcons about providing tickets for purchase for our family and friends. Of course, I’ll keep you updated with details.

2008 AFC Alumni Dues
The dues are $20 and will help to offset the costs of postage, supplies, etc. If you are performing, your dues must be paid.

Please spread the word to AFC Alumni who are not registered. I look forward to seeing everyone. Dust off those pom poms!!!

Lisa Guerrero – Former AFC Director – Some of the AFC Alumni from 89-90 were able to meet Lisa for dinner. It was great seeing her and catching up. Also, some of the AFC Alumni and current AFC were able to support her Atlanta movie premiere for “A Plumm Summer”. It’s playing for a limited time at the Roswell Startime Movie Theatre and is a wonderful movie for the family. Here’s a group shot of us at dinner.

Angela Mitchell – Congratulations to Angela! She’s very excited to announce she’ll be appearing in a recurring role (3 episodes) in a new Sitcom scheduled to air this coming fall on BET called "Somebodies". I wanted to remind you of some upcoming events. I will be combining the June and July AFC Newsletter and sending out in the next week or two.

A Plumm Summer Movie - Evening with Lisa Coles Guerrero www.aplummsummer.com
I hope that you and your family and friends will be able to attend and support Lisa's new movie. Please spread the word even if you can't attend and don't forget to RSVP. This will help with the head count for the refreshments that will be served. Complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be served that Friday, June 27th from 5:30PM to 7:00PM at the Star Time Movie Theater in Roswell. The movie, A Plumm Summer, will be shown immediately after the reception and everyone is responsible for their own movie ticket purchases. The golf tournament is Monday, June 9th at the Legends at Chateau Elan and is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. I will need volunteers to help out before then at the registration table, etc. Also, I will mainly need volunteers to sit outside on the course helping with various contests we will have. I'm thinking from about 12:30 to 6:00. The silent auction and live auctions are going to be the night before at our Pre-Tournament event party at Ray's on the River!!! We are really excited about this location, as you know they have terrific food! It's going to be Sunday, June 8th in the afternoon/evening sometime. We don't have an exact time yet! I will also need some volunteers at this event because of the auctions and various things that will be going on. If you can volunteer on Sunday or Monday, you and a guest are invited to come to Ray's on the River and bring a guest for free. We will have dinner, drinks, music, auctions, and much more! Again, let me say that any time you can help out will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Just a reminder to everyone....last year we raised $55,000.00 to give to our two charities!!! $10,000 went to the R.A.C.K. Foundation for the two college scholarships for a male and female of Derek's high school in MN and $45,000 went to the Fragile Kids Foundation.

*AFC Alumni Survey - This will be sent in the next 2 weeks via Evite. This was postponed due to current AFC Alumni cruise survey.

Don't forget the first deposit of $50 is due Friday, February 23rd for the "Alumni Cheerleaders Cruise 07" the weekend of August 3rd- August 6th 2007! Various squads and their Alumni (Redskins, Bengals, Titans, and more) have been invited to join us for our 3 night Bahamas cruise of fun and sun with your former cheer or dance buddies, significant others, or good friends. Feel free to invite others you may have cheered or danced with from High School, College, Professionally or people who just want to have a fun filled weekend.

Below is information from fellow Alum, Kimberly Hallman. Please send me your input on how you may want to become more involved with the community and particularly with this project at Hapeville Elementary School. A small committee could be formed for this project if interested. This could require donations from our group, fundraisers, etc.

Kim’s co-worker’s daughter attends Hapeville Elementary School, and these were some suggestions for the AFC Alumni to consider for helping with some promotions at their school.

1. Provide Star luncheon for our students once a month.
2. Provide bikes for awards day for perfect attendance and academic.
3. Provide gifts for the citizen of the month.
4. Provide gifts for the Principal honor student. (All A’s)”

Falcons Cheerleaders Alumni Game Day Reunion 2006

It had been over 15 years since the Alumni Cheerleaders performed at a Falcons game. The last reunion performance was in 1990 with the lovely white leotards, leg warmers and HUGE hair while celebrating 25 years of The Atlanta Falcons. On Sunday, October 22nd, the Atlanta Falcons were the host to the Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers at The Georgia Dome. To help commemorate the NFL's 40 years and 40 years of NFL cheerleaders, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders Alumni group performed during the pre-game festivities.

We had over 100 Alumni to perform the October 22nd pre-game show! The group looked beautiful and did a fantastic job. It was great seeing all of our hard work pay off and come together to look AWESOME. Everyone was so EXCITED and immensely enjoyed our 5 minutes of FAME!!! The Falcons organization gave us rave reviews and the fans in the stands complimented our pre-game show. The biggest compliment was from a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan who approached some of us after the game and said they enjoyed our Alumni performance.
